So, as the title says, i punched him in the face. I believe twas the right thing to do...
The Story:

Okay first, i am in seventh grade, in a public middle school in the united states. The grade goes up to eighth in my school. There is an eighth grader who sits at my girlfriend's table, and he is constantly harassing her and her friends. He cusses at them, throws things at them, squirts water and crap at them, just really bad. Soes i go over there and half jokingly half seriously say, "you... SUCK!" and proceed to rip the straw he is using to blow spitballs at people and throw it at him. He grabs my collar and says, "Tomorrow, i'm going to beat you." and throw me on the ground. He is about 5' 4" and i am about 5' so he has a big size plus on his side. So i am pretty freaked out right?

This is where the bad stuff starts.
So tomorrow, i start heading out the door, and he and his posse (of course) are standing around waiting for me. I am within 3 feet of him, and he grabs me and starts to punch me, but is stalled because a teacher is standing there. He puts his hand on my shoulder and waits like i'm his friend until the teacher leaves. as soon as the teacher is behind us, he uppercuts me right in the stomach. Instantly after he makes contact, i react. I drop my instrument, draw my arm back, still doubled over from the punch and knock him directly in his face. I scream, "Don't F*** With me man!" and pick up my instrument and run away. I looked back once and he was holding his cheek and friends were surrounding him liek, "are you okay" in their dopey eighth grader "i'm always high" voices.
And thats my story, and it happened today, right after school.
So i wanna know. was it the right thing to do?

You do not have a girlfriend. Only a kid in sp.ed would do something like that to girls and get away with it, so you're implying you beat up a retard if your story is somewhat true. an eigth grader cannot throw somebody his about size to the ground, and that conversation was a little short don't you think? and where are the teachers in all of this?

if somebody has the strength to throw you, you wouldn't react instantly after he slugged you in the stomach. and got two good face slaps in.
