You can also try to make the background more appealing, just some plain brushstrokes and a blurry copy of the render is pretty plain.

Wow, I was almost gob smacked when I saw the name of this thread!

Try use levels on your render to make it look more enhanced, don't just use plain brushes, do something to them, and the text.

Yeah. But something went wrong, and now it won't display the layers. So I can't go back and edit the other layers if I make a mistake. =/

Sence I haven't used GIMP in years I am not sure if this is the way but I belive there should be a "Windows" 'tab' you can click to choose what windows to display on the screen.
